
Mostly a few special ones of my grandkids. When Apple introduced live photos, the first thing I noticed was you can't store them off the phone without losing the live aspect. I hope you figure out a balance that works for you. Not something I need all the time, but good to have.Cool. That one I keep may be portrait, but a landscape version might be better for Moments. I need to pick the beat one and archive the rest. I'll take 3-5 shots of the same thing at similar angles. They had a great WWDC video on what comprises Live Photos: I would like to have a way to access them via iOS as well (e.g. I'm not sure if those can be put on a NAS and only macOS would be able to access those pictures. The only other thing I thought of is somehow using extra Photos libraries. I currently have about 10 GB of photos, so 5 GB would go a long way, but I would rather use backup local.

I considered backing them up on another iCloud account in Photos. It's like they can't exist outside of Photos. The thing is that I lose the video part of a live photo on export to an actual file. (I am just getting the hang of using Lightroom for selective color and finding that photos I was ready to part with were more interesting to work with than I expected.) I might never need these photos again, but I'm not ready to let go of them just yet. I want to put some in storage on a NAS, freeing up iCloud space. Now I have a lot of similar photos on iCloud. I failed to keep it up, yet failed to keep it to one.
